Mr. Yellott submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,
April 26th, 1861.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose to appoint a joint committee to consist of five
members of each House, for the purpose of considering what
business is most important for early action, and recommending
such measures as they may deem most necessary for our imme-
diate consideration, and have appointed Messrs. Yellott, McKaig,
Goldsborough, of Talbot, Watkins and Whitaker.

By order,

WM. KILGOUR,

Secretary.

Which was read, and sent to the House of Delegates :
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot,

Ordered, That Messrs. Goldsborough and Kimmel be a corn-
committee to wait upon the Clergy of this city, and ask that
they officiate alternately every morning during the session of the
Senate.

Mr. Kimmel, on the part of the joint committee, appointed to
wait on the Governor, reported that they had called on His Ex-
cellency, and that he informed them, that he would make a corn -
munication to the Legislature on to-morrow at ten o'clock.

Mr. Kimmel submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

April 26th, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

You will please return the message appointing a committee of
five to prepare business for the session.

WM. KILGOUR,

Secretary.
Which was read, and laid on the table.

Mr. Yellott submitted the following order:

Ordered, That a committee of five be appointed to consider
and recommend for the action of the Senate such business as
they may think most necessary for their immediate considera-
tion.
