Mr. Yellott offered the following

AMENDMENT:

Insert in the fourth line of second section, after the word "ap-
pointee," the words following: "or other officer of the militia, or
volunteers, lawfully elected or appointed."

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows :

So the Senate adopted the amendment.
Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, offered the following
AMENDMENT:

Strike out the words "arming and regulation" in the second
and third lines.
