BY THE SENATE,

August 5th, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully suggest to your Honorable Body the appoint-
ment of a committee of conference, in respect to the provisions of
the bill, entitled, An act to amend the act passed on the 10th day
of May, 1861, relating to the stay of executions, and to extend
the time for enforcing the execution of judgments.

We have appointed Messrs. Goldsborough, of Talbot, Miles
and McKaig, a committee on the part of the Senate, to confer
with such committee as may be appointed by your Honorable
Body.

Secretary.

Which was read and sent to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Whitaker submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE^

August 6th, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates;

We propose, with your concurrence, that the Senate Commit-
tee on Federal Relations and the Committee of the House on
Federal Relations act as a joint committee upon the memorial of
the Police Commissioners of Baltimore city.

Which was adopted, and sent to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
