So the Senate rejected the order.

The question was then taken upon the amendment;

Which was determined in the affirmative.

The Report was then referred to the Committee on Federal Re-
lations.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported the following:

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money to pay
Samuel J. Pentz, (owner of the steamer Pioneer,) Wm. H. Ham-
ilton, John Bird, J. C. Bush, James Cook, Wm. Lynch, John
Bradshaw, E. S. Thomas, and Edwin Street,

With the following

AMENDMENT:

In the tenth line of 1st section, strike out the word "and."
Insert in the same line, after the second word, "dollars," the fol-
lowing: "and Levin J. M. Broad water, five dollars;"

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring.

Said bill was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nayg
as follows:
