McKaig, Lynch,

Watkins, Miles,

Heckart, Franklin,

Dashiell, Gardiner—10.

Referred to a special committe, consisting of Messrs. Golds-
borough, of Talbot, Nuttle, and Heckart.

The following message was received from the House of Dele-
gates :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 26, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

The House of Delegates has received your Message, asking for
the appointment of a joint committee of conference, and concur
therein; and appoint Messrs. Gordon, Nail), Sangston, Long,
and Wooten, to meet your committee.

By order,

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.
Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, submitted the following :

That in the opinion of this Senate, it is inexpedient that any-
local bill should be passed, if at all, during this sesssibn, before
the public general bills shall have been acted on.

Mr. Watkins offered the following as a substitute :

Ordered, That the Senate shall pass no local bill during the
present session, unless imperatively demanded by the present
crisis.

On motion of Mr. Dashiell,

The whole matter was postponed until Friday next.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, of Dorchester,

Ordered, That from and after this date, the Senate meet,
during the present session of the Legislature, at 10 o'clock, A.
M., until otherwise ordered.

On motion,
The Senate adjourned until to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock.
