ginia. RESIDED: probably near the north side of
the Annemessex River, Somerset County. FAM-
ILY BACKGROUND. FATHER: Col. William Waters
(?-1685), a merchant who was burgess and jus-
tice in Northampton County, Virginia, in the 1650s;
a revision of colonial boundaries probably put
some of his Virginia land in Maryland. ADDI-
TIONAL COMMENTS: William was the son of Ed-
ward Waters (1568-1630), Gent., of Yorkshire,
England, who was in Virginia as early as 1608.
MOTHER: probably Margaret Robins (?-by 1663),
widow of George Clark. STEPMOTHER: by 1663,
