November 14, 1780-November 20, 1781
Daniel Carroll James Brice Jeremiah Townly Chase
John Hoskins Stone Samuel Turbutt Wright
' Plater was elected president on January 29, 1781, to replace Jenifer who was "indisposed and unable to attend."
2 Brogden was a field officer in the militia at the time of his election. He was discharged on November 1, 1780, but was
reelected and qualified on November 13.
3 Wright was elected speaker on June 11, 1781, to replace Bruff who was absent because of illness. When Bruff returned
on June 14, Wright withdrew, "being much indisposed," and Bruff was reelected speaker.
4 The Committee on Public Taxes was created in the second session to "enquire into and report the state of the public
taxes under the act passed last session (October 1780) for raising the supplies for the present year and more particularly
the specific taxes, and the rate of exchange between specie and bills of credit fixed in the respective counties from time
to time by the commissioners of the tax."
