BIOGRAPHIES OGL

1700 Assembly was challenged and referred to
the 4th session, when it was ruled invalid because
the election was not conducted according to law).
LOCAL OFFICE: justice, St. Mary's County, 1699-
at least 1703/4. STANDS ON PUBLIC/PRIVATE IS-
SUES: opposed Revolution of Protestant Associ-
ators in 1689. WEALTH DURING LIFETIME. LAND AT
FIRST ELECTION: 250 acres in Resurrection
Hundred, St. Mary's County, which Nuthall pur-
chased in 1696. He had inherited 4,200 acres in
St. Mary's County from his father in 1668, but
had sold it all by 1688. From 1668 to 1673, he
leased 1,000 acres from the proprietor. WEALTH
AT DEATH. DIED, between November 22, 1713,
and September 28, 1714, in St. Mary's County.

PERSONAL PROPERTY: TEV, at least £184.12.6

(including 6 slaves). LAND. 250 acres, which was
part of "Resurrection Manor," in Resurrection
Hundred on the south side of the Patuxent River
in St. Mary's County.

O'Bryon (?-1732), of Queen Anne's County, and
wife Catherine. MOTHER: Joanna (?-1767).

SISTERS: Mary, who married William Emory;
Hannah, who married Caleb Sparks; Ann (?-
1768), who married Robert Seniner; and Rebec-
cah, who married Solomon Sinnott. MARRIED
Elizabeth (?-1802). Her brother-in-law was Rob-
ert Walters of Queen Anne's County, farmer.
CHILDREN. SONS: Thomas; James; William; and
Benjamin. DAUGHTERS: Ann, who married (first
name unknown) Wallers; Elizabeth, who married

OGLE, BENJAMIN (1748/49-1809). BORN: on
January 27, 1748/49, in Annapolis, Anne Arundel
County; only surviving son. NATIVE: second gen-
eration. RESIDED: in Annapolis and on his plan-
tation "Belair" in Prince George's County; at
school in England, 1761-1767. FAMILY BACK-
GROUND. FATHER: Samuel Ogle (ca. 1694-1752).
GUARDIAN: John Ridout (1732-1797). MOTHER:
Anne (1723-1817), daughter of Benjamin Tasker
(ca. 1690-1768). UNCLE. Benjamin Tasker, Jr.
(1720/21-1760). AUNT: Rebecca Tasker (1724-
1822), who married Daniel Dulany, Jr. (1722-
1797). BROTHER: Samuel (1747-1748). SISTERS:
Anne (1743-1747); Mary (1746-1808), who mar-
ried John Ridout (1732-1797); and Meliora (1750-
ca. 1775), who married James Anderson of Hert-
fordshire, England. FIRST COUSINS: Benjamin Tas-
ker Dulany (1752-1816); Rebecca Lowndes (1757-
1802), who married Benjamin Stoddert (ca. 1751-
1813). MARRIED on September 13, 1770, in All
Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Hen-
rietta (Henry) Margaret (1751-1815), daughter
of Henry Hill (?-1752) and wife Mary Thomas
(1730/31-ca. 1762), stepdaughter of Robert
Pleasant of Virginia. Henrietta was the grand-
daughter of both Joseph Hill (?-1761) and Philip
Thomas (1693/94-1762). Her brother was Joseph
(1750-?). Her half sister was Ann Thomas
Pleasant. CHILDREN. SONS: Samuel (1773-died in
