1 After the death of Ogle on May 3, 1752, Tasker, the president of the Upper House, assumed the duties of acting gov-
ernor until the arrival of Horatio Sharpe on August 10, 1753.
2 William Rasin and Abraham Falconar were discharged from the Lower House on December 11, 1751, Rasin for being
an inspector within two years of his election, and Falconar for being an ordinary keeper at the time of his election. A
new election was called, at which time Rasin was returned and Falconar was replaced by Richard Gresham. Falconar,
however, was reelected later in the second session to replace the deceased John Gresham.
3 The election for the Baltimore County delegation was declared void on December, 12, 1751, because of illegal actions
of the sheriff in conducting it. The four men originally chosen were returned and took their seats at the beginning of the
second session.
4 The election of Steuart, the delegate chosen to replace the deceased Robert Gordon, was declared invalid on October
19, 1753. The petitioner, Alexander Hamilton, was declared the duly elected delegate for Annapolis and took his seat
the same day.
5 The members on all Lower House standing committees appointed in the first session were reappointed to continue in
the second through sixth sessions, but their names were not relisted. It is presumed that Edward Gantt, who was added
to the Committee of Arms and Ammunition in the middle of the third session, was not included in the reappointment
of members made during the fourth session. The Upper House member on the Committee of Bills of Credit-Paper Cur-
rency was not named in the first, fourth, and sixth sessions.
