1 The election of the St. Mary's County delegation was declared null and void on June 10, 1749, because of the illegal
conduct of the sheriff, Robert Chesley. All delegates were subsequently reelected and returned on May 8, 1750.
2 Tolley was discharged from the Lower House on June 1, 1751, for serving as an inspector of tobacco. Thomas Frank-
lin, who had received the second highest number of votes cast, was declared the duly elected delegate and took his seat
on June 4, 1751.
