1 Hall signed himself as president of the Upper House in correspondence during the first session and the conventi
Although he is not referred to as president during the second session, he still occupied that position. During Hall's
sence in the third session, and after his subsequent death in 1737, Richard Tilghman assumed the position as sen
councilor and used the title of president of the Upper House during the fourth session. Tasker acted in Tilghma
stead during Tilghman's brief absence in the third session, and accordingly signed letters as president of the Up
House.

2 Hollyday was appointed to the Council on July 15, 1735, but did not attend until February 17, 1736/37, because
had been in Europe.

3 Dulany declined to serve as speaker of the Lower House because of poor health. Harris was then chosen speak
Dulany, however, did attend the Assembly as a delegate.

4 The election of Francis was declared illegal on April 3, 1735. He was, however, reelected and qualified on April
1735.
