Elizabeth Tilghman, who married James Lloyd
(1745-1820); Anna Maria Robins (1732-1806),
who married Henry Hollyday (ca. 1725-1789);
Margaret Robins (1734-1808), who married Wil-
liam Hayward (?-1791); and Henrietta Maria Ro-
bins (1736-1791), who married James Lloyd
Chamberlaine (1732-1783). Her nephew was
Thomas Ringgold (1744-1776). MARRIED second,
Sarah (1749-1794), daughter of Alexander Wil-
liamson (ca. 1712-1760); niece of Thomas Ring-
gold (1715-1772). Her brothers were Alexander
(?-1760); James. Her sisters were Ann; Henrietta;
and Rebecca. Her first cousin was Thomas Ring-
gold (1744-177 6). MARRIED third, his first cousin
Anna Maria (?-1817), who moved to Philadelphia
after William's death and died there without prog-
eny, daughter of James Tilghman (1716-1793);
granddaughter of both Richard Tilghman
(1672/73-1738/39) and Tench Francis (1701-

1736), who married James Earle, Jr. (ca. 1694-

who married first, George Robins (1697-1742),
and second, William Goldsborough (1709-1760),
Anna Maria Tilghman (1709-1763), who marrried
first, William Hemsley (1703-1736), and second,
Robert Lloyd (ca. 1712-1770). Her brothers were
Tench (1744-1786); Richard (1746-1796); James
Tilghman, Jr. (ca. 1748-1796); William Tilghman
(1756-1827); Philemon (1760-1797); and Thomas
Ringgold (1765-1789). Her sisters were Elizabeth,
who married James Lloyd (1745-1 820); Mary; and
Henrietta Maria (1763-1796). Her first cousins
were Michael Earle (1722-1787); Richard Tilgh-
man Earle (1728/29-1788); Richard Tilghman
(1740-1809); Matthew Tilghman (1760-ca. 1801);
James Tilghman (1743-1809); Peregrine Tilghman
(ca. 1741-1807); Anna Maria Earle (1725-1795),
who married Thomas Ringgold (1715-1772); Hen-
rietta Maria Earle (1730-1767), who married Wil-
liam Hemsley (1736/37-1812); Deborah Lloyd,
who married Peregrine Tilghman (ca. 1741-1807);
Margaret Tilghman (1742-1817), who married
Charles Carroll, Barrister (1723- 1783); Anna Ma-
ria Robins (1732-1806), who married Henry Hol-
lyday (ca. 1725-1789); Margaret Robins (1734-
1808), who married William Hayward (?-1791);
and Henrietta Maria Robins (1736-1791), who
married James Lloyd Chamberlaine (1732-1783).

(1783-1839), daughter of James Tilghman, Jr. (ca.
1748-1796); Alexander, who married first, in 1808
Henrietta Maria (?-1817), daughter of Lloyd
Tilghman, and second, Elizabeth Ann, daughter of
Francis West, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and
wife Mary Nixon; and James, who never married.

Thomas Chamberlaine Earle (1771-?), son of
Richard Tilghman Earle (1728/29-1788); Anna
Maria, who married in 1805 Thomas Emory, of
"Poplar Grove," Queen Anne's County; and Juli-

death; one of the five largest subscribers to the

1780-1781, Term of 1781-1786: 1784 (elected on
December 4, 1784, to fill vacancy; declined to
serve on December 9, 1784), Term of 1786-1791:
1786-1787, 1787-1788, 1788 (did not serve), 1789
(did not serve), 1790. OTHER PROVINCIAL/STATE
OFFICES: treasurer, Eastern Shore, commissioned
