1 The one-day convention, held on April 24, 1716, is reported in the Lower House journal. Although no journal for the

Upper House has survived, it was in session.

2 The recorded Lower House proceedings for the second session begin on May 28, 1717. The recorded proceedings for

the Upper House begin on May 29, 1717.

3 The ranking of the Upper House members varies slightly throughout the proceedings.

4 Greenfield, of St. Mary's County, and Wright, of Queen Anne's County, had one-half their allowance deducted for

departing in "a contemptuous manner" without permission from the Lower House.

5 There is no specific mention of committee appointments or reappointments in the Lower House proceedings of the

second session, but the committees were definitely operating. It is presumed that the original committee members

named in the first session were reappointed in the second session, and that Thomas Dent and Samuel Hanson, who

were added to the Committee of Laws late in the first session, were not reappointed. The members of the second session

committees were then reappointed to continue in the third session, but their names were not relisted.
