COMMENTS: In 1718 William exchanged 600 acres
of the lands in Dorchester County he had inher-
ited from his father for 300 acres that his brother
Bartholomew Ennalls (ca. 1700-1783) owned in
the same county. This transaction is reflected in
the total acreage he owned at first election. En-
nalls and John Rider (1686- 1739/40) claimed land
which by treaty had been granted to the Nan-
ticoke Indians. In 1723 the Lower House noted
that Ennalls and Rider had molested the Indians
and had not permitted them to cultivate any part
of the disputed land. No further reference was
found to Ennalls's claim, although Rider's was
successfully resolved in favor of his heirs, who ulti-
mately received 1,664 acres in Dorchester County.
