to Maryland in connection with his father's busi-

Browne (?-1685), a merchant of Salem, Massa-
chusetts, who had trade associations with Mary-
land for many years, and who sold 1,676 acres on
the Sassafras River in 1663/64. MARRIED in 1664
Hannah, daughter of Henry Bartholomew. CHIL-
