St. Mary's City, 1689-1692. OTHER PROVINCIAL
OFFICE: agent to New York on Indian affairs,
1690-1691. LOCAL OFFICES: alderman, St. Mary's

ter of Josias Lanham. MARRIED second, by 1695
Anne (?-1712/13), widow of Robert Burnan.
CHILDREN. SON William Blay (ca. 1681-1716),
who married Isabella, daughter of William Pearce
(ca. 1641-1720/21). PRIVATE CAREER. EDUCA-
TION: literate. RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: Anglican.

1720/21). She subsequently married by 1722 John
Johnson. Her brothers were Daniel Pearce (1677-
1727); William, Jr. (?-1703); and Benjamin (1683-
1734), who married Mary, widow of John Hynson
(ca. 1670-1708). Her sisters were Elizabeth, who
married Henry Ward (?-1734); Sarah. CHILDREN.
SONS: Edward (1707-?); William (1714-?). DAUGH-
TERS: Rachel (1703-?), who married first, in 1724
Edward Scott (?-1725), second, by 1727 John
Brown, and third, Aquila Paca, son of Aquila
