HENRY LLOYD, ESQUIUE, GOVERNOR.

thereon, be receivable for the party to whom
due or his assignee in writing, in payment of
county taxes due by the lawful holder thereof.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the several
Supervisors shall make a summary statement,
quarterly, commencing the first day of May
in each and every year, to the County Com-
missioners, of the state of the roads within
their districts and the expenses by them in-
curred under this law; the amount of money

paid out by them in constructing and repair-
ing roads, and to whom paid, with the vouchers
for the same, certified to by affidavit of the
Supervisor, the blanks to be furnished by the
County Commissioners; that, each Supervisor
shall be entitled to receive a sum not to exceed
two dollars per day for each day he is actually
employed on the roads for the said County
Commissioners, and shall be wholly exempt
during his term of office from militia duty
and from service on juries.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That in addition,
to the proper proportion of the general road
tax levied for ordinary expenses of roads and
bridges within the county, the County Com-

missioners shall have power, in their discre-
tion, upon the petition of thirty or more land
owners within any road district, to levy upon
the assessable property within such road dis-
trict an additional special tax of not more than
ten cents on the hundred dollars, to be col-
lected as other county taxes, and to be ex-
pended under the direction of the County
Commissioners in the improvement of the
roads within said district.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That every Super-
