To re-enact.
|
Laws, title "Anne Arundel County," Bub-title
"Annapolis," as the same was amended and
re-enacted by acts of eighteen hundred and
sixty-six, chapter one hundred and forty-four,
be and the same is hereby revived and re- en-
acted so as to read as follows :
SEC. 60. "All fines imposed and collected under
the provisions of section fifty- five of this art-
icle shall go, one-half to the informer (who is
hereby made a competent witness) and the
other half shall be divided equally between
the State's Attorney and the Sheriff or other

officer who shall have made report in the case
to the Judge under fifty-ninth section of this
article ;" and the same is hereby declared to be
in full force from the date of the proclamation
hereinbefore provided for, declaring the Local
Option Law repealed as to said city.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That section one
hundred and seventy-nine of article thirty,

and Punishments," sub-title " Sabbath Break-
ing/' as the same was repealed and re-enacted
by the acts of eighteen hundred and sixty -six,
chapter sixty-six, be and the same is hereby
revived and re-enacted so as to read as fol-
lows :
SEC. 179. "No person in this State shall sell,
dispose of, barter, or if a dealer in any one or
more of the articles of merchandise in this sec-
tion mentioned, shall give away on the Sabbath
day, commonly called Sunday, any tobacco,
cigars, candy, soda or mineral waters, spirit-
uous or fermented liquors, cordials, lager beer,
wine, cider or any other goods, wares or mer-

chandise whatsoever, and any person violating
any one of the provisions of this section shall
be liable to indictment in any Court in this
State having criminal jurisdiction, and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined a sum not
less than twenty nor more than fifty dollars,
in the discretion of the Court, for first offense,
