lon measure; and any person using any other
measure than above prescribed in any oyster
house in this State, or any proprietor of any
of said oyster houses, using any other than the
above prescribed measures to measure any
oysters to be shipped by him or used in his
business, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,

and on conviction thereof before any Justice
of the Peace of said county, shall be fined not
less than ten nor more than one hundred dol-
lars, in the discretion of the Justice, and shall
stand committed till fine and costs are paid ;
one-half of which said fine shall be paid to
the State of Maryland and one-half to the in-
former; but the person so convicted shall have
the right of appeal as now provided by law in
other criminal cases.

CHAPTER 306.
A N ACT to repeal sections thirty and forty-
eight of chapter four hundred and seventy-
one, of the acts of Assembly passed at
January Session eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight, entitled an act to repeal article
twenty-six of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Corporations," and to enact a sub-
stitute therefor, and re-enact said sections
thirty and forty-eight with amendments;
also to add a new section to said act to fol-
low section ninety-three, and to be num-
bered ninety-three A, granting certain pow-
ers to Electric Light Companies.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That section thirty of chap-
ter four hundred and seventy-one of the acts
of Assembly passed at January Session, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-eight, entitled an act
