LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 298.

AN ACT to repeal section thirteen of the act
of eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter one
hundred and seventy-two, entitled an act to
repeal sections one, two, three, twelve, thir-
teen, fourteen, sixteen, seventeen and eigh-
teen, of article forty-eight of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Insolvents," and
to re-enact the same with amendments, and
also to add certain new sections to said
article as amended by the act of eighteen
hundred and eighty-four, chapter two hun-
dred and ninety-five, and to repeal sections
twenty-three and twenty-four of the said act
of eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter one
hundred and seventy-two, and to re-enact
the same with amendments,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That section thirteen of
the act of eighteen hundred and eighty, chap-
one hundred and seventy-two, entitled An
act to repeal sections one, two, three, twelve,

dred and eighty, chapter one hundred and
seventy-two, be and are hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows :

13. No deed or conveyance executed, or lien
created by any banker, stock-broker, merchant,
manufacturer or trader, being insolvent, or in
contemplation of insolvency, shall be lawful
or valid if the same shall contain any pre-
