CHAPTER 288.
AN ACT to enable the Edison Electric Illum-
inating Company of Cumberland, Maryland,
to issue coupon bonds and secure the pay-
ment thereof and to purchase certain stock
therewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Edison Electric
Illuminating Company of Cumberland, Mary-
land, a corporation duly incorporated under
the General Laws of Maryland, be and is here-
by authorized to issue coupon bonds at a rate
of interest not exceeding six per centum per
annum, not to exceed twenty thousand dollars
in amount, in sums of not less than fifty dollars
nor more than five hundred dollars, each pay-
able at such time or times as the Board of
Directors of said company may direct, but not
to exceed thirty years from date, and to secure
payment of said bonds and the coupons for

interest thereto attached, by a deed of trust to
J. Wilson Humbird and William E. Weber, of
Cumberland, Maryland, on all its property in
the city of Cumberland, real and personal, in-
cluding its central station on Union street, in
said city, and all the machinery and other
property therein, as well as the wires, lamps,
posts and fixtures throughout said city belong-
to said company.
