SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Legisla-
ture reserves the right to alter, amend or re-
peal this act at pleasure.

Right reserved.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 7, 1886.

CHAPTER 282.

AN ACT to authorize the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Wicomico county to make a sepa-
rate general index for the Judicial and Chan-
cery records and dockets in his office, and
empowering the County Commissioners of
Wicomico county to pay for same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland, That the Clerk of


the Circuit Court for Wicomico county, be
and he is hereby authorized and required,
under the supervision of the resident Judge of
said Court, to make or have made a separate
general index for the Judicial and Chancery
records and dockets in his office.

dex.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said Clerk
shall be paid for said work at the rate of five
cents per each name so indexed; provided,
the costs of the index, books and work shall
not exceed two hundred and fifty dollars.

Compensa-
tion.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the County
Commissioners of Wicomico county be and
they are hereby authorized and empowered
to levy upon the assessable property of said
county the sum of two hundred and fifty dol-
lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
to pay for said books; provided, that said
Clerk shall file his account for said work and
books, duly itemized and probated, and that
