directed, at any and at all times, upon the re-
quirement of the Attorney-General, to execute
any and all bonds and stipulations whatsoever
in the name or on behalf of the State of Mary-
land, whether as principal or surety, or by

way of indemnification to sureties, which the
Attorney-General may certify to him to be
proper to be executed, in or about any pro-
ceedings whatsoever now pending, or that may
hereafter be instituted against the said Henry
Lloyd, J. Frank Turner, John S. Gittings,
James I. Waddell and Lemuel Smoot, for or
on account of the performance of the duties
imposed upon them by the aforesaid act of
Assembly, and especially relating to any ap-
peal in said suits or actions which the Attor-
ney-General may think proper to take in the
best interest of the State.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the faith of
the State of Maryland be and. the same is

hereby pledged to the full and perfect indem-
nity of any surety or sureties, obligor or
obligors, upon any and all bonds or stipula-
tions which shall be given in pursuance of the
provisions of this act.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
