SEC. 4. And 6e it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and
all laws heretofore passed inconsistent with
this act are hereby repealed.

Approved April 1, 1886.

Effective.

CHAPTER 140.

AN ACT repealing chapter fifty-five of the act
of eighteen hundred and sixty-six, incor-
porating the Baltimore and Liberty Turn-
pike Company in Carroll county, and to
re-enact by incorporating a new company in
lieu thereof, to be known as the " Baltimore,
Freedom and Liberty Turnpike Road Com-
pany in Carroll county."

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That chapter fifty-five of


the acts of Assembly of eighteen hundred and
sixty-six, be and the same is hereby repealed
and the following be enacted in lieu thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That Richard J. Baker,
William T. Devries, Jonathan M. Dorsey,
Joseph Slach, Marshall S. Selby, George W.
Mamo, Alastair P. Gordon Gumming, J. Henry

Repealed.

Steele, James George, Simon H. Golibart and
Yelverton T. P. Frizzell, be and they are
hereby incorporated a body politic for making
a turnpike road, to be commenced at the centre
of the north branch of the Patapsco, at what is
known as "Luttgerding's mills," and extending
to the division line of Carroll and Frederick
counties.

SEC 3. And be it enacted, That the capital
stock of said company shall not exceed thirty
thousand dollars, to be divided into shares of
twenty dollars each, one dollar to be paid at

Corporation.
