Chapter 60.


AN ACT to incorporate The Young Men's Republi-


can Club of Baltimore city.


WHEREAS an association of citizens exists in the


city of Baltimore under the title of the Young Men's


Republican Club of Baltimore city; and whereas the


said association has applied for an act of incorporation

in order that thereby its existence may be rendered


more secure, and that it may be enabled to carry out


with greater efficiency the important objects for which


it was formed; therefore —


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, -That the president of said association,


William W. Johnson; the vice presidents, Barreda

Turner and James F. Shaffer; the secretary, Charles

Clark; the treasurer, William E. Peregoy; and the


governors, J. Reese Pitcher, A. W. Monroe, Thorn-


dick Chase, J. F. Farlett, Noble H. Creager, George


T. Baggs, William F. Pentz, Samuel F. Powell,


Frank G. Fenhagen, Robert Hughes, W. W. Abra-


hams, R. M. Gait, M. J. Rose, Jacob Day, Charles


H. Read and Stephen R. Mason, and such other


persons as are now members of said association,


and their successors, be and are hereby created a cor-

poration by the name of The Young Men's Republi-


can Club of Baltimore city; and by that name shall


have perpetual succession, may sue and be sued, an-


swer and defend in any court of law or equity, and


may adopt a constitution, ordain and establish such


by-laws, rules and regulations as may appear necessary
