respectively entitled; for donations to colleges, acade-


mies and schools, as set forth in acts and resolutions of


the general assembly heretofore passed, forty-two thou-


sand five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may


be necessary; provided that none of the appropria-


tions to colleges, academies and schools shall be


paid to any of said institutions excepting to such

applied under the direction of the governor, in accord-


ance with the provisions of the act of eighteen hun-


dred and sixty-eight, chapter two hundred and five,


fifteen thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may


be necessary.


CONTINGENT FUNDS.


For the contingent fund, placed at the disposal of


the governor by article three, section thirty-two of the


constitution, seven thousand five hundred dollars, or


so much thereof as may be necessary; for the contin-


gent fund of the treasury department, for advertising,


stationery, blank books, expressage, telegrams and


other incidental expenses, twenty-five hundred dol-


lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary; for the
