salary of the commissioner of the land office, fifteen


hundred dollars; for the salary of one clerk to the


commissioner of the land office, twelve hundred dollars.


JUDICIARY.


For the salaries of the chief judges of the first seven


judicial circuits, three thousand five hundred dollars


each — twenty-four thousand five hundred dollars; for


the salaries of the fourteen associate judges of the first


seven judicial circuits, two thousand eight hundred


dollars each — thirty-nine thousand two hundred dol-


lars; for the salaries of the judge of the court of ap-


peals from Baltimore city, and of the chief judge and


four associate judges of the supreme bench of Balti-


more city, three thousand five hundred dollars each —


twenty-one thousand dollars; for the salary of the at-


torney-general, three thousand dollars; for commis-


sions to attorneys on claims of the state placed in their

hands for collection, five thousand dollars, or so

much as may be necessary; for the crier of the court


of appeals, nine hundred dollars, or so much thereof


as the clerk of the court of appeals may certify that he


is entitled to receive; for the salary of the state re-


porter, one thousand dollars; for the state's subscrip-


tion to two hundred copies each of volumes sixty-


six, sixty-seven and sixty-eight of the Maryland Re-


ports, fourteen hundred dollars each — forty-two hun-


dred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,


and for the paper upon which said volumes may be


printed, in accordance with the provisions of the act


of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, chapter four hun-


dred and ten, three hundred dollars for each volume,


or so much thereof as may be necessary.


MILITIA.


For the salary of the adjutant-general of the


state, fifteen hundred dollars, to be paid out of the


appropriation for the support of the militia, to be ex-
