AN ACT to establish a Board of Health for Olney
|
|
|
|
|
district of Montgomery county.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That James C. Martin, William E.

lowell, or their successors, be and they are hereby

appointed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any vacancy in said

board from death, resignation or failure to attend

three successive meetings, without a written explana-

the remaining members by an election by ballot from

citizens of said district.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said board may

determine upon such plan of organization as will best

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said board of health

shall have the general care of the sanitary interests

of the residents of Olney district; shall make sani-

tary investigations respecting the cause of disease, and

|
especially epidemics; they shall enquire into and in-
|
|
|
|
|
vestigate all nuisances affecting the health of the citi-
|
|
|
|
|
zens of the district, and for this purpose its members
|
|
|
|
|
are authorized to go into any premises or into any
|
|
|
|
|
houses; and if a majority of the board so direct, the
|
|
|
|
|
president of the board is hereby authorized and em-

cuit court of Montgomery county, by a bill or petition,
