Chapter 88 4.

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Wash-

ington county to adjust and pay to the Mayor and

Council of Hagerstown a sum of money, advanced

by the said Mayor and Council, for the suppression

and prevention of small-pox in Washington county.

WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown

did, in the year eighteen hundred and eighty-one, pay

out and expend a certain sum of money for the erec-

tion of a small-pox hospital on the grounds of the

and did further expend a sum of money in the care,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the commissioners of Washing-
