Chapter 338.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize John B. Mackall, of Calvert
|
|
|
|
county, to erect one gate on the public road in said
|
|
|
|
county leading to St. Leonard's wharf.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That John B. Mackall, of Calvert
|
|
|
|
county, be and he is hereby authorized to erect and
|
|
|
|
keep one gate on the public road in said county lead-
|

ing through the farm upon which he now resides to

St. Leonard's wharf, provided the said John B. Mack-

|
|
|
all shall cause the said gate to be hung upon good and
|
|
|

sufficient hinges, and shall keep the said gate in good
|
|
|
|
order and repair.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person or
|
|
|
|
persons shall wilfully leave open, cut down, destroy
|
|
|
|
or remove said gate, he or she shall, upon conviction
|
|
|
|
thereof before any justice of the peace of said county,

forfeit and pay to the owner of such gate a sum not

less than three nor more than ten dollars for each and

every offence, to be recovered as small debts are now
