Chapter 143.


AN ACT to make valid and legalize the official acts


of Emil F. Droege, one of the justices of the peace


of the State of Maryland, in and for Garrett county.


WHEREAS Emil F. Droege was appointed and com-


missioned a justice of the peace on the seventeenth


day of April, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, for


election district number one, Garrett county, Mary-


land; and whereas, just prior to this date, election


district number ten was created by act of assembly,


as contained in chapter one hundred and forty-three,


acts of eighteen hundred and eighty-two, and the said

Preamble.

Droege has resided within the bounds of said district


number ten since its formation, and has acted as a


justice of the peace therein, although appointed a jus-
tice for district number one for said county; and


whereas some doubts have been expressed in regard to


the legality of the official acts and proceedings of said


Droege as a justice of the peace aforesaid, on account


of his residing in district number ten, therefore —


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the acts and proceedings of Emil


F. Droege, as one of the justices of the peace of the


State of Maryland, in and for Garrett county, during


the period he acted as such justice for district number

Acts made valid

one of said county, while actually residing within dis-


trict number ten, be and the same are hereby made as


valid, and to have the same effect and operation in


law, as if the said Emil F. Droege had been an actual


resident of said district number one of Garrett county,


Maryland.
