CHAPTER 468.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 214 of the Acts of 1929 en-
titled "An Act to Incorporate the Town of Cobb Island
in Charles County, Maryland, " and to re-enact the same
to provide for the incorporation of the Town of Cobb
Island in Charles County, Maryland, and to provide for
the government thereof, and to provide for the election
of Town Commissioners who shall have power to make
and enforce ordinances for the public health and safety,
and to make annual levies of not to exceed Twenty-five
Cents ($. 25) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) of
of the assessable value of the real property of said
Town of Cobb Island, and for other municipal purposes.

CHAPTER 469.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
540B of Chapter 229 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, 1931, authorizing the Mayor and Common
Council of Hyattsville, a municipal corporation, to con-
struct road-bed, sidewalk, curb, gutter and street im-
provements in said town and to provide for the liquida-
tion of the same by special assessment on the lands
abutting said improvements.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 540B of Chapter 229 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1931, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

540B. That the Mayor and Common Council of Hyatts-
ville shall have the power to assess against the abutting
property and collect from the owners thereof the cost of
roadbeds, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street improve-
ments constructed under the provisions of this Act, includ-
ing the cost of street and public alley intersections; pro-
vided, that before any assessment is levied hereunder,
notice in writing of the proposed assessment shall be sent
to all owners of property, against which the assessment is
proposed to be levied, naming in said notice a time and
