SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That five new sections be and the same are
hereby added to Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County, " sub-title
"Clerk, " subject "Recording of Plats, " and to read as
follows:

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Clerk of
the Circuit Court of said County is hereby authorized and
directed to have "Copies" made, without any change of
scale, or size, or dimension, of all plats of sub-divisions of
Towns or Villa Sites and plats of every kind heretofore
recorded among the Land Records of said County in Plat
Books B. D. S. No. 1, and R. N. R. No. 2, which are present
records of said County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said copies
of plats shall be made under the supervision and direction
of the said Clerk of Court, by a competent surveyor or en-
gineer to be selected by the said Clerk at a price and com-
pensation to be first approved by the Comptroller of the
Treasury.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said copies
of plats shall be made or drawn by said surveyor or engi-
neer on substantial tracing linen or parchment, and shall
be, by him, fastened, attached and recorded, under super-
vision of said Clerk, in a substantial book to be furnished
by said Clerk and to be known and designated as Plat Book
"B, " which book shall be kept in the Clerk's Office of said
County, as other Plat Books and Land Records are now
kept. And the said Clerk shall endorse upon the record
book at the folio where said original has been filed, a cer-
tificate that the plat heretofore filed in said record book
has been copied and recorded under the provisions of this
Act, which certificate shall give the liber and folio where
said new plat may be found; provided that before said
new plat or copy shall be entitled to record, as hereinabove
provided, there shall be endorsed upon same in addition to
the other certificate required by this Act, the certificate of
the said surveyor or engineer, who made the copy, that the
same is an exact copy or said original plat. And the said
Clerk shall provide in the front of said Plat Book "B" or
other Books an appropriate index of the plats therein re-
corded and the pages or folios of the respective plats
therein recorded.
