sons having an estate or interest therein shall have power
to redeem the same at any time within one year and a day
from the day of sale, on paying to the Collector the whole
amount of money received by such Collector from the sale
of said property which it is desired to redeem from said
sale, and all additional taxes or assessments which have
become due on said property, and a further sum of one
per cent, per month interest from the time of sale to the
time of such payment and redemption; and the sums so
paid shall be by the Collector delivered or tendered to the
purchaser whose right in the property so purchased shall
thenceforth cease and determine.
HEALTH OFFICER.
657. There shall be a Health Officer appointed yearly
in the same manner as other appointments are made, who
shall be a reputable practicing physician, whose duty it
shall be to have charge of and supervision over all matters
of health and health regulations, within the town, and he
shall receive such salary or compensation as the Mayor and
City Council shall fix.
658. It shall be the duty of every physician practicing
medicine within the town of Laurel to make a return to the
Collector of all births and deaths, and also of all contagious
and infectious diseases, and report the same to the practic-
ing physicians in said town; and also report all contagious
and infectious diseases to the Health officer of the town.
SAVING CLAUSE.
659. All ordinances and resolutions of the Mayor and
City Council of Laurel shall remain in force and have the
same legal effect as when enacted, the intention being not
to repeal by any provision hereof any of the said ordi-
nances, unless they be in conflict herewith.
