CHAPTER 424.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Li-
censes, " sub-title "Motor Vehicles, " sub-heading "Non-
Resident Owners and Operators, " said new section to be
known as Section 1901/2 and to follow immediately after
Section 190 of said Article, relating to the registration
fees to be paid for motor vehicles owned by non-residents.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1929 Sup-
plement), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Motor Vehicles, " sub-
heading "Non-Resident Owners and Operators, " said new
section to be known as Section 190 1/2, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 190 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

190 1/2. Every motor vehicle owned by a non-resident of
this State, for which a registration in this State is required,
by reason of the fact that the laws of the State in which
the non-resident resides requires the payment of a registra-
tion fee from a resident of Maryland for the operation of
a similar motor vehicle, shall pay a registration fee to the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of the State of Maryland,
equal in amount to that, collected by the authorized official
or body of the State of the non-resident for the registration
of such motor vehicle owned by such non-resident, but in
no case shall the fee paid to the Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles of Maryland be less than the amount as is now or
may hereafter be provided for by the laws of this State for
the registration of a similar motor vehicle.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.
