of Princess Anne. " Said accountants shall be called the Town
Auditors and shall, before they enter upon the discharge
of their duties as such, take and subscribe before the Presi-
dent and Commissioners of Princess Anne, the official oath
prescribed by the State Constitution for officers qualifying
to fill their offices, and they shall hold office for one year
only, but shall make a semi-annual audit of the books and
accounts, and their salaries shall be prescribed by the Pres-
ident and Commissioners but shall not exceed the sum of
twenty-five dollars each, which shall be paid by the said
Commissioners or by said Treasurer on warrant of said
Commissioners. The said auditors shall make a report to
the Commissioners of their findings, which shall be given
to the public within one week thereafter.

317C. The "Town Clerk, Treasurer and Collector of
Princess Anne" shall be the collector of all water rents due
the town and also all town taxes, for whatsoever purpose
levied or to be levied, for or within said town during his
term of office, or that may be placed in his hands for col-
lection. He shall have power to collect and shall collect, if
collectible, all water rents and town taxes levied and ac-
cumulating during his term of office, and if not all collected
before his term expires, then he may collect the same there-
after as provided in Section 317A, and he shall have full
power to enforce the payment of the same by cutting off
the water or a sale of the property or by suit as aforesaid
provided, as hereinbefore described to convey title to any
real estate or personal property in said town and sold by
him for the payment of town taxes due in arrears and in
default thereon, in the manner prescribed by the succeeding
sections; and this Chapter shall not prevent said Treasurer
from collecting back taxes levied and due before the passage
of this law, but he may collect such back taxes as well as
those levied and becoming due after the passage thereof.

317D. The said "Town Clerk, Treasurer and Collector
of Princess Anne" before he enters upon his duties as such
shall take oath of office prescribed by the State Constitution
before the President and Commissioners of Princess Anne,
to the effect that he will faithfully and well perform the
duties of the same, and he shall also execute the bond pre-
scribed by Section 317A, which bond shall be approved by
the said President and Commissioners of Princess Anne
and filed away by the President of said President and Com-
missioners, or recorded in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Somerset County.
