CHAPTER 298.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
299 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County, " sub-
title "State's Attorney, " decreasing the compensation of
the State's Attorney for Calvert County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 299 of Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cal-
vert County, " sub-title "State's Attorney, " be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:

299. The State's Attorney for Calvert County shall re-
ceive a salary of eight hundred dollars per annum,
and no more, which shall be annually levied by the County
Commissioners of Calvert County to the use of the State's
Attorney, for the performance of the duties which are now
or may be hereafter required by him by law, to be paid for
by the County Commissioners of Calvert County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
not be construed to affect the compensation of the present
incumbent during the term for which he was elected, but
shall only apply to those appointed or elected after this Act
becomes effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.
