under Section 202 of this Article. The members of the
Board of Supervisors of Elections of Washington County
shall receive an annual salary of not less than four hundred
dollars ($400. 00) each, which salary may be increased by
the County Commissioners in their discretion. The said
salaries shall be payable by the County Commissioners of
said county and the said Supervisors shall not receive any
other compensation, emolument, pay or recompense of any
kind whatsoever for their services including services ren-
dered under Section 202 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 280.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
1 of Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1929 Supplement), title "Interracial Commission, " re-
lating to the election and term of office of the Executive
Secretary of the Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 1 of Article 49B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Interracial
Commission, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:

1. There shall be a permanent Interracial Commission,
which shall consider questions concerning the welfare of
colored people residing in the State of Maryland, recom-
mend legislation and sponsor movements looking to the
welfare of said people, and to the improvement of inter-
racial relations, and to co-operate with other State agencies
to these ends.

Said Commission shall consist of the State Superintend-
ent of Public Instruction and eighteen members equally divid-
ed between the white and colored races, including a white
chairman. All members shall be appointed by the Gov-
ernor with the advice and consent of the Senate, except
