land, its successors and assigns, the right, privilege and
easement, in perpetuity, to construct, operate and main-
tain a pole line for the transmission and distribution of
electricity, etc.. over, and across the land owned by the
University of Maryland, near the town of Princess Anne
in East Princess Anne Election District, in Somerset
County, State of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered
to grant and convey by deed to The Eastern Shore Public
Service Company of Maryland, a corporation, its suc-
cessors and assigns, the right, privilege and easement, in
perpetuity, to construct, operate and maintain a pole line
for the transmission and distribution of electricity, includ-
ing all telephone, telegraph, and other wires, towers, poles,
guy and brace poles, anchors, ground connections, attach-
ments, fixtures, equipment and accessories desirable in
connection therewith, over, upon and across the tract of
land, near the town of Princess Anne, in East Princess
Anne Election District, in Somerset County and State of
Maryland, now vested in the Board of Regents of the Uni-
versity of Maryland, under the provisions of Chapter 480
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1920,
from the south side of the land of Julia F. Covington, across
the aforesaid land of the University of Maryland, to the
boundary ditch dividing this land from the land of George
W. Powell, and thence by and with the general course of
said ditch to the old county road leading from Princess
Anne to Palmetto Church; and together with the right to
cut, clear and keep cleared of trees and brush a strip not to
exceed 25 feet on each side of said pole line, that is to say,
a total width not to exceed 50 feet, along the course of said
pole line as it crosses the strip of wood land lying between
the land of the said Julia F. Covington and the land of the
said George W. Powell..

The land over and across which this easement is to be
granted was conveyed unto the Maryland State College of
Agriculture by Thos. H. Kiah and others, by deed dated the
3rd day of August, 1918, and is recorded among the Land
Records of said Somerset County in Liber W. J. S: No. 74,
Folio 426, etc.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1933.
