CHAPTER 233.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
127 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1924 Edition), title "Elections, " sub-title "Compensa-
tion, " exempting Queen Anne's County from the pro-
visions of said section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 127 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Elections, " sub-
title "Compensation, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

127. The compensation of all judges and clerks of elec-
tions in the City of Baltimore and in the Counties shall be
increased two dollars ($2. 00) per day over and above the
amount now allowed and paid under existing provisions of
law. The Boards of Supervisors of Elections of the sev-
eral counties shall have power, with the consent of the
County Commissioners to increase the compensation of the
registration officials not more than $2. 00 per day in ad-
dition to the amount now allowed and paid under the exist-
ing provisions of law. Provided, however, that this section
shall not apply to Queen Anne's County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 234.

AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 77 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland (Edition of 1924),
entitled "Public Education", under a new sub-title to
be known as "Negro Education under the Morrill Act",

' said new section to be known as Section 214A, and to
follow immediately after Section 214 of said Article;
to provide for a division of certain appropriations for
education received by the University of Maryland from
the Federal Government; and to authorize partial schol-
arships for exceptionally worthy negro students;
