year thereafter, the Mayor and Council shall appoint two
qualified voters of said town, not holding any other office
thereunder, as Supervisors of Election, who shall also act
as Registration and Election Officials. One of said Super-
visors shall be designated Register of Voters and Judge of
Election and the other designated Clerk of Registration
and Clerk of Election at the time of their appointment, for
any election during the year succeeding their appointment.
In case of a vacancy occurring in the office of the Super-
visors of Election, the Mayor and Council shall appoint a
qualified person to fill said vacancy. The Supervisors of
Election shall receive three dollars ($3. 00) each, for each
and every day they may be required to serve as Judge of
Election and as Registration Officials.

The said Supervisors of Election shall sit on the last
Monday in June, 1931, and the first Monday in July, 1931;
and on the last Monday in February, 1933, and the first
Monday in March, 1933, and on the same day in February
and March every two years thereafter between the hours
of 1 P. M. and 9 P. M. at the Court House in Chestertown
or some easily accessible place in said town, to be desig-
nated by the Supervisors of Election, for the purpose of
registering the voters of said town. The Supervisors of
Election shall advertise in one or more newspapers pub-
lished in Chestertown, the dates, hours and places of reg-
istration and election.

The said Supervisors of Election shall be furnished by
the Mayor and Council with a well bound registration book,
which shall be kept by them and for which they shall be
responsible. In such book there shall be a space for the
name of each person registering his name, his color, his
actual place of residence in said town, his ward, and date
of registration. The Supervisor acting as Registration
Official shall have the registration book at the place and at
the time designated, as above set forth, for registration,
and if upon examination of such applicant both Supervisors
agree that such applicant is a qualified voter, they shall
register his name, and all persons so registered shall be
entitled to vote at town elections so long as their names
appear upon such registration book.

The Supervisors of Election acting as Registration Of-
ficials on the first of said registration days, hereinbefore
provided for, and on the first of said registration days in
the year 1933 and in every second year thereafter, when-
ever an affidavit is made before them by any registered
voter of said town that any name upon the books is not
