CHAPTER 127.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
807 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-
title "Treasurer, " and to repeal Sections 812, 821A and
822 of said Article (Section 821A having been enacted
by Chapter 269 of the Acts of 1931), decreasing the com-
pensation of the County Treasurer, eliminating the pro-
vision requiring him to attend in person or by deputy
in the several election districts for the collection of taxes,
and eliminating his fee for dog license and the provi-
sion for additional clerks.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 807 of Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Fred-
erick: County, " sub-title "Treasurer, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:

807. At the general election to be held the Tuesday next
after the first Monday in the month of November, in the
year nineteen hundred and thirty-four, and on the same
day in every fourth year thereafter, a County Treas-
urer shall be elected by the qualified voters of Frederick
County, who shall hold his office for the term of four years
and until his successor m office is duly elected and quali-
fied, and who shall be removed from office by the County
Commissioners of Frederick County upon conviction in
the Circuit Court for said County, or in any other County
having jurisdiction in the premises, for any wilful neglect
of duty, or misbehavior or malfeasance in office; and in case
of a vacancy in said office, by reason of a removal from
office(as herein provided, or by reason of death, resigna-
tion, removal from the County, or in any other manner,
the Governor of the State shall be and he is hereby au-
thorized and empowered to fill such vacancy by appoint-
ment of some person having the necessary, qualification,
who shall hold,, said office for the remainder of the said
term. The person so elected County Treasurer shall be
Collector of all State and County taxes, for said County,
for whatsoever-purpose, which shall be levied or assessed
during his term of office, in the same manner and to the
same extent and with the same powers heretofore exer-
cised by the County Treasurer and Collector of State and
County taxes for said County, under the laws of the State
