other election returns, and they shall certify the number
of votes cast "For Repeal of Prohibition and Local Option
Laws of Washington County" and "Against Repeal of Pro-
hibition and Local Option Laws of Washington County, "
respectively, and file a certificate thereof with the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Washington County, and another with
the Clerk of the County Commissioners of Washington
County. If the majority of votes cast at said election shall
be "For Repeal of Prohibition and Local Option Laws of
Washington County, " then this Act shall immediately be-
come effective in all of its provisions, but if the majority
of said votes be cast "Against Repeal of Prohibition and
Local Option Laws of Washington County, " then this Act
shall be of no effect and shall be null and void.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

CHAPTER 115.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
118 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County, "
sub-title "Circuit Court, " sub-heading "Crier and Door-
keeper, " decreasing the compensation to be paid to
bailiffs.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 118 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " sub-head-
ing "Crier and Doorkeeper, " be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

118. The Circuit Court of Washington County is hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint three bailiffs to said
court, two to be door or gate-keepers and one to be desig-
nated by said court to have charge of the library, said
bailiffs to be in regular attendance upon the court, to be
under its control and supervision and each to receive
the sum of $3. 00 per day for each day he may be em-
ployed as such. Upon a certificate from the clerk of the
