of checks and thereby decrease the amount of currency
withheld from circulation; therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Congress of the United States be and it is hereby
urgently requested to repeal as speedily as possibly the two
cents tax on checks; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be
and he is hereby requested to send a copy of this resolution
to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to the
President of the Senate, and to all the representatives from
Maryland in the Senate and House of Representatives of
the United States Congress.

A Joint Resolution continuing the existence of the Land-
Laws Commission appointed by the Governor, in pur-
suance of Chapter 527 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of 1929, as amended by Joint Resolution No. 16, of
the General Assembly of 1931, requiring said Commis-
sion to report to the Governor on or before December
31st, 1934.
WHEREAS, the Land-Laws Commission appointed by the
Governor, in pursuance of Chapter 527 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1929, has submitted a report and he
has recommended that said Commission be continued;
therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Land-Laws Commission, as created by Chapter 527 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1929, with the number
of its personnel and its powers increased by Joint Reso-
lution No. 16 of the General Assembly of 1931, be and the
same is hereby continued; and be it further
Resolved, That the said Commission shall prepare a re-
port covering any and all of the subjects to be considered
by it, which said report shall be submitted to the Governor
