NO. 8.

Joint Resolution requesting the State Central Purchasing
Bureau to purchase green marble from Maryland quar-
ries under certain conditions.

WHEREAS, Considerable quantities of high grade green
marble are produced in Maryland; and

WHEREAS, It is desirable to encourage the sale of this
green marble, in order to aid employment in the State;
therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
State Central Purchasing Bureau be and it is hereby re-
quested to purchase green marble produced from the quar-
ries in Maryland for the use of all state institutions, except
when, in the judgment of said Bureau, such purchase would
operate to the disadvantage of the State; and be it further

Resolved, That when contracts are made for the erection
of any public buildings in the State where green marble
will be used, that efforts be made to have the contractors
use green marble from Maryland quarries.
