der, or contractors, to whom the work is awarded to execute
a contract in writing for the faithful performance of his,
or their work, and in said contract or contracts, the said
contractor shall agree, as part of his or their contract, to
pay for all materials used in the construction of the same,
and shall give bond for the faithful performance of said
contract including the payment for all labor and material,
such bond or bonds to be approved by the County Commis-
sioners for Dorchester County, and said bond or bonds
shall be given to the State of Maryland as obligee, and shall
be subject to suit by the County Commissioners for Dor-
chester County, or by any laborer on such building or
buildings, or by any person furnishing materials for the
sale, and the contract or contracts for such work shall be
signed in the usual form by the County Commissioners for
Dorchester County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That should the
County Commissioners for Dorchester County decide not
to rebuild, repair, renovate, equip and refurnish the Dor-
chester County jail, then they are hereby authorized and
directed to deposit said money to the credit of the sinking
fund provided for the redemption and payment of the bonds
authorized by the Acts of 1931, Chapter 493.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1933.

CHAPTER 574.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
537 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County, " sub-
title "Roads, " abolishing the offices of Road Directors
and County Roads, Engineer of Allegany County, and
transferring the powers and duties of said officers to the
County Commissioners of Allegany County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 537 of Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Al-
legany County, " sub-title "Roads, " be and it is hereby re-
