Power to
make con-
tracts.
|
Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of said Company shall have full
power and authority to make contracts or arrange-
ments with any other Railroad Company now ex-
isting, or hereafter to be constructed, for through
transportation of passengers and merchandise, and
of all property of what kind soever in the cars of
either Company.

Power to pur-
chase real es-
tate.
|
Sec. 18. And be if enacted, That the said Com-
pany shall have full power to purchase and to hold
all real estate necessary for the purpose of said
Railroad, or any of their works, to buy and build
houses and shops for corporated purposes, and
when the final survey of any part of said road
shall be made by the Company's engineer, such
survey shall be recorded in the Recorder's or Clerk's
office, of Baltimore county, and the records there-
of shall be evidence of the route and limits of said
road.

Reservation.
|
Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly hereby reserves to itself the right to
alter, amend, or repeal this Act, or any part
thereof.

When to be
completed.
|
Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That the said road
shall be commenced within eighteen months, and
completed in three years from the passage of this
Act, otherwise this charter shall be null and void.

To take ef-
fect
|
Sec. 21. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect and have full operation from the day of
its passage.
