SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act

mayor; but if it shall appear that a majority of the

votes have been cast " Against the act to encourage

manufactures," then this act shall be null and of no

effect.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act

AN ACT to repeal sections 195 and 198 of article

11 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Fred-

erick county," subtitle "Mechanicstown," as

amended by sections two and six of chapter

of eighteen hundred and seventy, and to substitute

in lieu thereof the following :

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That sections 195 and 198 of
