Chapter 39.

 

AN ACT to extend and supplement an act passed

 

at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-

 

nine, chapter three hundred and twenty-eight,

 

entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Baltimore

 

Steam Packet Company," and also to extend and

 

supplement an act passed at the January session,

 

eighteen hundred and fifty-six, chapter fifteen,

 

entitled " An Act to extend the Charter of the

 

Baltimore Steam Packet Company."

 

WHEREAS by an act of the General Assembly

 

of Maryland, passed at the December session, eigh-

 

teen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter three hun-

 

dred and twenty-eight, the Baltimore Steam Packet

 

Company was incorporated with a provision that

 

said act should continue in force until the year eigh-

 

teen hundred and sixty-two, and until the end of

 

the next session of the General Assembly thereafter ;

Preamble,

and whereas, by an act passed at the January ses-

 

sion, eighteen hundred and fifty six, chapter fifteen,

 

said act of eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, chap-

 

three hundred and twenty-eight, was extended and

 

continued in full force for the period of twenty

 

years from the tenth day of March, eighteen hun-

 

dred and sixty-two, and until the end of the next

 

session of the General Assembly thereafter; and

 

whereas, it is desirable that the provisions of said

 

acts shall be continued in full force, therefore :

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the corporate rights, privi-

 

leges and franchises granted by said act of assem-
