To F. Knapp's English and German Institute for

 

the training and education of indigent mutes, twelve

 

hundred dollars, in consideration of which appropri-

 

ation, said F. Knapp's English and German Insti-

 

tute is hereby required and directed to found twelve

 

free scholarships for the education and training of

 

indigent mutes, and to train and educate twelve

indigent mutes, and to furnish them with necessary

schools, &c.

text books, appliances and so forth, and the Comp-

 

troller of the State is hereby empowered to draw

 

his warrant on the treasurer for the sum of twelve

 

hundred dollars annually on satisfactory proof that

 

the said F. Knapp's English and German Institute

 

has complied with the requirements in regard to free

 

scholarships herein contained.

 

REFORMATORY AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.

 

To the State House of Correction, for the support

 

of the institution, twenty five thousand dollars; to

 

the Lying-in Hospital for Indigent Women, three

 

thousand dollars; to the Home for Friendless Chil-

 

dren, at Easton, Talbot county, two thousand dollars ;

 

to the House of Refuge, fifteen thousand dollars;

 

to Saint Vincent's Infant Asylum of Baltimore, one

 

thousand dollars; to the Boys' Home of Baltimore

 

city, one thousand dollars; to the Hov.se of Refor-

 

mation and Instruction for Colored Children, ten

 

thousand dollars; to the Maryland Institute for the

 

promotion of the Mechanic Arts, as provided by act

 

of 1878, chapter 313, three thousand dollars; to the

 

Managers of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane,

 

twenty thousand dollars; to the Home of the Friend-

Reformatory
Institutions.

the Nursery and Child's Hospital of Baltimore city,

 

five thousand dollars; to the House of the Good

 

Shepherd, two thousand dollars; to the German

 

Orphan Asylum of Baltimore city, twelve hundred

 

dollars; to the President and Board of Directors

 

of the Hebrew Hospital of the city of Baltimore,

 

seven hundred and fifty dollars; to the Hebrew

 

Orphan Asylum of Baltimore, seven hundred and

 

fifty dollars; to the Baltimore Orphan Asylum,

 

one thousand dollars; for the expenses of the State

 

Board of Health, including the salary of the Secre-
